Industrial Hemp

Is it time yet for common sense to reign?

Over seventy years ago a handful of people with self-serving agendas and the ears of weak or corruptible politicians CHANGED THE ROOTS OF INDUSTRY IN OUR NATION! Let's start with California... When I am in the State Legislature I will introduce a bill to re-legalize the farming of industrial hemp in California.

The re-legalization of industrial hemp farming will:

  • Create REAL green jobs!
  • Give central valley farmers a quickly maturing crop to help them recover from the congress-induced devastation of their orchards and fields
  • Build California's economy, ability to SELL hemp products to other States, instead of BUY it from other countries!
  • Allow California to shine and prosper as a leader once again

The only true controversy regarding this issue is how it was made illegal in the first place:  The crusade was led by William Randolph Hearst, a big money lumber man; and Pierre Dupont, a big money chemical man who had just patented the nylon rope made from petrochemicals and who held the patent for the sulfuric acid process of making paper out of wood pulp.

These two men, along with Dupont backer Treasury Secretary Andrew Mellon, were the primary forces behind getting hemp outlawed in this country.  There was never any truth to health hazards of hemp, it was all simply propaganda used for the personal gain of several powerful business owners.  Please visit the links below for more information.
