Education

California now ranks 49th in education, a steady downward spiral from 14th place in 2007 and 8th place in 1981. Irrefutable evidence shows that blindly dumping money into the school system is not the answer. Watch the MUST SEE video below for only a few of these examples.

The trickledown effect is not working in public education. When the schools receive State or Federal funds the money gets sucked up by administrative bureaucracy instead of dispersed to the people who really need it- the teachers. The mismanagement of school funding is appalling. I know a teacher who was throwing out some trash and found, to her surprise, a pile of fully functioning pens, markers, pencils, and other supplies in the school dumpster! So this teacher ended up dumpster diving to collect some of the same things she had spent money on, out of her own pocket, throughout the school year.

I am a proponent of home schooling, private schools and school vouchers.  California’s public school system must be scrutinized and the fat must be trimmed-from the top!-either by reductions in salary for; or elimination of; administrative positions. School performance incentive will be increased by attaching any funding directly to the students themselves.

Below is a very good documentary on the state of public education in this country.
