Win or lose it was a great experience

Last election the democrat won 65% to 35%. Anything better that is a plus for me and personal freedom and choice. Polls in CA won't close for a few hours so I can't say how my candidacy changed things. We have to wait and see. But if you supported me then many thanks.

Hi Linda,

Most of what you stand for I like, but I was disappointed to see you taking an anti-freedom stance on immigration. It's not "illegal" to enter the United States without the permission of government. The Constitution does not authorize Congress to regulate immigration (people entering the country), only naturalization (the process of becoming a citizen). As you appear to be aware, government in this country is totally out of control, and giving them more power over who can enter is extremely dangerous. Fences, walls, and guards can ultimately be used to keep people IN as well as keeping them OUT! We should encourage the black market (i.e. less taxed and regulated) commerce which undocumented migrants practice when they are shut out of more visible opportunity due to their effectively criminalized status. Hope you will reconsider your views on this issue, and stand up for  freedom for all.

Starchild,

Thank you for addressing this. I actually agree. Ultimately I believe in the libertarian philosophy of freedom of movement without borders, as extreme as that may sound.

However, in order for anything remotely close to this to function, we must first address the way that our society works, especially the social benefit programs. I think you would agree that to force anyone to foot the bill for someone else is not a freedom stance. I believe in the goodness and generosity of humanity, and all these programs are killing that generosity.
